As life issues forth from nothingness, the shining man first awakens as a pre-neanderthal man, but endowed with a specially accruing consciousness of which he is at first not completely aware. Initially he struggles with his existence and trying to understand the nature of his soul and special consciousness.
With his first illumination, and subsequent reincarnations, the shining one begins to become aware of the tremendous power he has when possessed by the light, without realizing the deepening responsibility of this knowledge. He sees himself as the beginning and end of everything that has ever been.
